The PetSaver Pet CPR and Pet First Aid class is an 8 hour class, taught using lecture, demonstrations (with both a live dog and stuffed dogs), and hands-on skill practice. There is much repetition and the involvement of many senses - the aim being to obtain an “other than conscious” learned response. (You don’t have to stop and try to remember; you just “do it”.)
The Pet Tech Pet First Aid class topics include:
Restraining and Muzzling
Primaray Assessment
Rescue Breathing
CPR
Bleeding Protocols
Additional topics in the Pet First Aid class include:
choking management, shock management, fractures, heat/cold injuries, seizures,
suggestions for maximum “wellness”, dental care, and more.
This pet first aid program also encourages pet owners to do a
“snout-to-tail” pet assessment.
This assessment, done on a regular basis, will help the pet owner know what
normal is for their pet. Knowing normal, then gives the owner a better chance to
identify something abnormal much faster.
The students leave this Pet First Aid class with:
a 40 page Pet First Aid handbook
a Pet Tech Pet First Aid
certificate of completion
(recognized internationally) |
But more importantly, they leave with valuable knowledge about how to help their pet in a medical emergency.

Tucker , Pet Tech Assistant Instructor #5, is truly an
"International Pet Tech Demo Dog".
He is pictured with Montreal in the background after two
great days of pet first aid classes hosted by
