Tucker does love to get notes, but those that have nothing to do with dogs
really confuse him.  Please don't post spam stuff.  It just takes Tucker time to
clean it all up and he would much prefer to play frisbee.
(And if you're a reader wondering what some posts are all about, please just give
us a chance to delete the junk - SO RUDE!)

Hi Tucker: I'm trying to find a french quotation that goes something like this. "The more I know dogs the less I like man" Can you give me a hand. Many thanks, John jbuono3344@ yahoo.com

Comment from Tucker:
Hi John, Here's what I found -

"The more I know about men the more I like dogs." Gloria Allred

The More I Know Men, the More I Love Dogs (Paperback)
by Fabienne Villette (Author)

And a T-shirt at zazzle.com -
"Mieux que je connais les hommes, plus j'aime mon chien"

Hope that helps.

Answer back from John:
Many thanks. Have a good day and stay healthy. John

Hi Tucker

My name is Gypsey and I am a Aussie too - red merle. I live down under - Melbourne, Australia. Funny enough there are not alot of Aussie who live down here.

Like you I love to run especially after sea gulls. When I am out for a walk I love to chase them.

I am 9 years old now and so I have decided that it is best for me to only run at a slow pace which my owner Michelle is fine with LOL.

Your website is great, practical - if only every dog owner was this sensible.

Have a great day

(Comment from Tucker: Hi Gypsey, Thanks for the kind words. I wish that we lived closer. I'm sure we could be good friends.)

(Comment from The Sensible Dog: Cesar Millan (www.cesarmillaninc.com) is the ultimate pack leader. His site has many suggestions which might help you. Or you could try to find a trainer near you who practices the same "calm, assertive" techniques. Please send me your email address for a more detailed response. Or share your email here for suggestions from other Sensible Dog viewers. Hope all goes well. Tucker)

My dog (Scrappy) and I have been walking for several years. We walk at least 45 minutes to an hour everyday. Just last week, we start walking and for no apparent reason, stops puts his tail between his legs, ears pinned back and won’t walk. There are no other dogs around, no other animals, people, etc. I try talking to him and it doesn’t help. I finally say okay, Scrappy let’s go home and he turns around and runs back. Same thing happens when we are at a park. He stops, I do the same thing and tell him, okay, let’s go back to the car. He runs back to the car!
Scrappy is 5 years old, American Staffordshire mix, just went to the vet for his shots and a checkup. Help – what could be his problem?

When my mother was near death with Leukemia, she did not want to be parted from her old friend a cross of unknown origin, who was also near the end of his life,( they died the same week)
She asked our Paster if dogs went to Heavan. The wise old man answered, " Mrs. Stevenson, would it be Heaven withöut them?'

(Response-
Have you read the book by Gary Kurz, "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates"? He gives a very studied Biblical response to that question. That book gave Sally much comfort after the sudden loss of Tucker's predecessor.)

My sweet dog (God spelled backwards) is my service dog and is so attentive you might think it is a crummy way to live a dog's life. But when I look into her eyes, I gaze at the pride she has for having a "job".

My feelings are all things for the beautiful species should be balanced in their lives by having a job. A different and more special being evolves this way. I love my dogs! (I am sure they LOVE me!)

(Response:
Hi - Your dog doesn't have a "crummy" life at all - it sounds like a wonderful life. And I'm sure you are LOVED! My "job" is being Sally's friend and almost constant companion. I encourage her to exercise - with me, of course. I love my job and wouldn't want it any other way! Tucker)

My lab is only 6 mo. old and will not walk properly on a leash for me. He balks, he pulls, he jumps on me. It is more work than not for me to try to walk him. Is this because he is a pup? He went crazy with a haltie lunging at me. He pulls to much with a harness or and a leash only. I am at a loss seeing as he is so young. I have had him to obedience classes the sit, stay, come thing but I had to hold tight on to him for the walking.
HELP If You can, Please.

(Response:
Hi Bev,
Yes, you must remember regardless of size, he is still a puppy. Have you watched Cesar Milan's program The Dog Whisperer or visited his website? His quiet but assertive approach to walking with your dog worked for Sally and me. It might work for you and your pup as well. Send me your email if you want to talk some more. I hope this helps. Tucker)

Thanks for a great program. I've had hand weights for my walk, but never knew what to do with them other than just carry them.
