Traveling with your dog - Photo Identification.
When traveling with your dog, the last thing you want to have happen is to become separated from him.
But you can take a few actions before leaving home to help insure that your and your dog will be reunited
as quickly as possible.
We’ve all seen the posters with a lost pet’s picture and other information. At home, you could quickly print
up one of these on your computer. But on the road, this might become a much bigger problem. Having a
way to put up posters very quickly might help find your dog faster.
Make up a master copy before you leave. Include a clear picture or pictures of your dog showing any
markings that will help to identify him. Print the information that won’t change - like name, breed, size,
personality traits (friendly or shy), and contact information.
Leave spaces for last seen, date, and local contact information (like where you are staying or instructions
to contact a local person or organization.)
Of course, we hope that you never have to use any posters, but it’s best to be prepared.

Here is an additional idea I was given. Identify some unique marking on your dog that is not listed on the poster. For example, Tucker has a very unique marking on one pad of one foot. Perhaps it could be a spot on your dog’s tongue, or coloring on his gums. If someone claims to have your dog, you can ask them to identify that particular marking. This could save you precious time, if you determine that the dog is not yours.
