Who We Are: 
     The owners of The Sensible Dog, Stan and Sally  live on an old farm in Vermont.  They share their lives and this business with "the sensible dog", an Australian Shepherd named Tucker.  It  may  be questionable whether or not he really is sensible, but there is not doubt that he knows how to have fun.  Trying to find things that they needed/wanted for him was the inspiration for the business. 

     Stan and Sally also have a portrait photography studio, which specializes in outdoor portraits.  Before that, they both had careers in the computer industry. 

     They are also both outdoor enthusiasts. When the studio is closed during the winter, Stan is a PSIA Level II Certified ski instructor at Stratton Mountain, Vermont.  He also bicycles.  The picture was taken at the successful end of his cross country bike ride in 2005. (The bottle he's holding contained water from the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.)  Sally and Tucker were the SAG (support) team for Stan on his trip.

Sally, in addtion to doing agility and canine freestyle with Tucker,  is a flat water kayaker. 

Tucker enjoys - herding anything that moves.  His favorite saying, is  "Never tucker out".  Wait that's his name.  (Watermark's Never Tuckers Out)  See our Links for more information about the Australian Shepherd.

Where We Are Located: 
     The Sensible Dog is located in south western Vermont.
We do have and use many of the products that we offer. However, we  do not have a physical store with inventory that you can purchase on site. 

What We Believe:  
     The Sensible Dog wants to be your first choice in items for enjoying your active dog.
            In order to be the best, we follow 3 simple statements.
1.   That our customers must be given the best possible service.
2.   That our customers must be given the most valuable information.
3.   That our business ethics must be consistent with our faith in Jesus Christ.
